Agulhas National Park

Pocket Friendly Tours in South Africa Eased by Partnership

By a partnership between hotel group Southern Sun along with South African Tourism (SAT), traveling topically has turned out to be easier, a lot exciting, but certain of all easier on the pocket.
Catching on to the achievement of SAT’s Sho’t Left drive - encouraging South Africans to tour inside their own country - Southern Sun kicked off its SunBreaks campaign in April 2008.
The SunBreaks effort is Southern Sun’s latest stand from which to direct young, enterprising South Africans, promoting them to take shorter, more reasonable vacations, more frequently.
There are 6.2 million South Africans out in that location that have the imaginations and taste to travel, but just aren’t sure how to go about it, or whatever packages are on offer.
Addressing at the launching of the partnership on Wed, Ms Mahlaba informed BuaNews: “Value for money when travelling is one of the greatest things that encourages people to travel.
“So partnering with Southern Sun, who have such an array of hotels across the country, we now have a partner that can fulfil the needs of emerging, young, and up-and-coming South African travellers.
Discussing at the Africa Investor Tourism Awards in February, Environmental Affairs and Tourism Minister Marthinus Van Schalkwyk said foreign arrivals to Africa amounted to 846 million in 2006, mapping an extra 44 million arrivals over the closing year with the same outgrowth drawing near for 2007.

Mpumalanga’s Top ten tourist attractions.
(1). Blue swallows.
This is considered the most endangered bird in S. Africa and if you are lucky, you can spot the blue swallow in the Province of Limpopo in the nests of old sink holes ant bear holes, mine shafts or near Kaapsche hoop in Mpumalanga.
For clear sighting, visit Malawi’s Nyika plateau.
(2). Wakkerstroom
In Wakkerstroom, you can spot some of the 20 S. Africa’s 35 odd endemic species of birds in the small town of Mpumalanga with also wetland habitats and grasslands.
In summer, its when grassland species can be seen easily in their plumage breeding ground.
(3). Mac Mac Duet.
Mpumalanga’s Mac Mac Falls in Mac Mac River spreads into two and columns of water plummet side by side. For 65 metres in a gorge pool below in Mpumalanga’s magical fall.
(4). Lisbon’s Double stream.
Walk along a footpath below the fall to have spectacular views Lisbon Falls which over ½ circular rock face tumble in a double stream of 90 metres.
(5). Berlin Falls.
The Berlin Falls boasts plenty of waterfalls. Water cascades 80 metres over a cliff and below a green pool. You can get closer on the falls or a platform to have spectacular views of the falls.
(6). Cosmos Country.
The Cosmos spring flowers lie in Namagua land and west coast. However, they are also situated in South western Mpumalanga and in summer, this veld is carpeted with pink and white cosmos flowers, wild cosmos flowers usually have eight petals as a way of difference.
(7). Mpumalanga Trout.
The place Privides rivers and dams which are well-stocked with brown trout and rainbow in the area, best for fishing.
(8). Kaapse hoop.
Kaapse hoop is a village town with houses built on raised hills and rocky out crops and you cannot see them on the main road. There are few roads in Kaapsehoop and houses. The available houses in the area are wild shops. Here they sell second hand treasures. You will be out of place if you can manage to come in an old beetle.
(9). World’s oldest Rocks.
Visit Barberton, where you can imagine after seeing the 3400 million years ago rocks in place.
You can visit these Fortuna hiking trail, which hiking boasts over 100 tree species.
These rocks developed when a bacteria started to develop and later a few years, a fossil of that bacteria was found near Barberton. Its estimated to be around 3200 million years old.
(10). Songimvelo Game Reserve.
Its one of the most scenic reserves. Its less known by visitors.
The Reserve lies on the border between Swaziland and Mpumalanga in the low veld and in big game country. It provides a nine-day horse back adventures.
Be prepared for a great adventure especially if your guide is Steven Rufus since he is a white knuckle rider.
